Sophia's two months old!

Daddy playing on the floor with his favorite daughter

Hi!

BIG smiles

She's so darn cute

Sophia is two months old today! It's hard to believe how fast time is flying. She's about 11.5 lbs and 24.5" long. She gained two pounds since her one month birthday and grew 1.5". Phew! She's been busy! Here's what she's up to:

-smiling all the time!
-playing a lot more during the day with longer sleep periods at night
-sleeping from 7pm-11:45pm, then back down right after her feeding until 3:30am
-playing from 3:30am-4:30am, then back down till 7am
-getting lots of tummy time with daddy and holding her head up great
-wearing big 3mo clothes or 6mo clothes because she's so long
-eating every 3-4 hours
-talking to you when you talk to her
-being the cutest little baby ever! (and no I'm not bias :-)

Tummy Time with Daddy

Sophia works on strengthening her neck everyday with Daniel.  She's getting much more head control now and many more facial expressions.

Sophia Smiles!

Sophia and her crazy pants!
Lake Raleigh

Sophia smiled at us for the first time today! It was very exciting and we even got it on video!! Lucky us huh? Just ignore the ridiculous baby voices Daniel and I use to talk to our child. We are also very excited because Julie, Daniel's sister, will be staying with us during the summer to watch Sophia. She won't go to daycare until she's 4 months old. We were dreading having her in daycare so young so this will work out wonderfully.

I'm getting ready to go back to work tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to it but I have to work to help my little family! Hopefully she'll start to behave a little better at night and I'll be able to get some rest. I'll probably start going to bed at 8 to make up for the lost sleep I'll be getting in the early morning since that's when she likes to wake up. Oh well! If women used to birth their babies in the field and keep on working, I guess I can go to work too. :-)

Happy Mother's Day!

Serious baby acne going on
I don't know how either of them can be comfortable

Mommy's baby girl!

Rachel's parents came up to celebrate Mother's Day today. It was nice to have them here and they brought dinner and sweet treats! Life is going by very quickly. Rachel has one more week off for maternity leave and then she's back to work. Sophia is not sleeping through the night and probably won't for a few more weeks--so working will be difficult for both of us. We'll be taking turns taking care of the baby throughout the night but Rachel will still be nursing so she'll be up the most for sure. We've had a busy past couple of weeks and she is getting much bigger. Sophia's a little over 10 lbs now and growing like a weed! When we have more sleep maybe we'll post more often! Here's what Sophia is up to at her 6 week mark:

-sleeping from 11am-2:30am straight (our only straight sleep that's regular, yes we're about as sleep deprived and exhausted as you can get...)

-napping all day long with one hour intervals of play every 2 hours or so

-eating every 3 hours

-snuggling every chance she gets with daddy!

-not wanting to sleep in her crib
