New Mailbox

Our old mailbox was leaking water because it had been backed into sometime before we bought the house. Daniel found a new mailbox at Ace Hardware for $10 (regularly $50), it's bigger than a regular mailbox, so nothing has to be folded to fit inside it. He painted and repaired the post and then put the new mailbox on. It looks much better than the old one.

Today, we got 4 new chickens:

When it rains, it pours...

Not wanting to be out done by a white leghorn, one of our rhode island reds decided to lay an egg this morning too.

While up on the roof fixing the chimney, Daniel took some pictures of the front yard and back yard.

Chicken Update

Still no eggs from the chicks, but they are getting bigger.

Chimney Repair

Daniel put a chimney cap on the chimney to keep rain from coming into the house. He used the chimney cap from his childhood home in Robbinsville, NC.

On Thursday night we headed down to Atlanta to see Daniel's grandmas and ride back to Robbinsville with Frank and Jan. On Friday we drove to Robbinsville and got back pretty late. Saturday we went out on the lake. On Sunday is was more of the same, we went out on the lake and Jan went water skiing. I think I might try it next summer. :-) Next weekend we head down to Charlotte to go to Kristen's bridal shower!
