If you’re interested in some of the work that Daniel does, check out the link below which takes you to a video presentation of an experiment designed to test the readability of North Carolina's license plates with an Automatic License Plate Recognition system.

Valencia, Spain

Daniel spent the past month in Valencia, Spain with a fellowship from the European Union at the Polytechnic University of Valencia as part of the Transatlantic Partnership for Excellence in Engineering.  The next series of blog posts will contain information from his trip.  I hope you enjoy them.  He also made a weekend trip to Porto, Portugal and went to Rome and Barcelona when I joined him for the last week.

Transportation Print from GE Plant in Erie, PA

Grandma Jane recently gave Daniel a print from his grandpa that hung in his office.  It's print showing various modes of transportation from hot air balloons to trains to bicycles and more.  The print represents a mural that was painted in the building that grandpa helped design.  The print now proudly hangs in Daniel's office where he works as a transportation engineer.

2010-2011 NC State Recreation Guide

We made page 20 of NC State's 2010-2011 Recreation Guide!  I think this was from several years ago from one of the group fitness classes right after the new wing of the gym opened.

Brisbane, Australia - Aussie Rules Football Game

Daniel with the winning sign and jersey

The Gabba Stadium

Daniel went to a couple of AFL (Aussie Rules Football) games in Australia.  Once in Adelaide to see the Adelaide Crows beat the #1 ranked Geelong Cats and once in Brisbane at the Gabba to see a close loss of the hometown Lions to the Melbourne Demons.  During halftime, the cameras at the game searched the stadium for someone holding the "GOAL" sign and that person turned out to be Daniel.  So, he went down the edge of the field for a video on the jumbo screen to collect his free jersey and $100.
